Gopal Bhar and the Magical Cooking Pot
In the royal court of King Krishnachandra, there was no one more clever and witty than Gopal Bhar. Known throughout Bengal for his sharp tongue and clever pranks, Gopal was the king’s favorite court jester.
The Royal Announcement
One fine morning, the king announced a competition:
“Whoever can cook the most delicious dish using the least ingredients shall be handsomely rewarded!”
Cooks, ministers, and villagers all rushed to prepare their tastiest meals. The royal court turned into a food festival.
But Gopal came with nothing — just a clay cooking pot.
The king frowned. “Gopal! Where’s your dish?”
Gopal bowed and replied, “Your Majesty, this is a magical pot. It cooks food all by itself — but only if the person who opens it is truly honest.”
The Test Begins
Curious, the king stepped forward and lifted the lid. Nothing.
Next came the minister — still nothing.
One by one, everyone in court tried, but the pot remained empty.
Everyone looked confused. Gopal smiled and said,
“My Lord, it seems there’s no one truly honest in your court!”
The hall burst into laughter. Even the king couldn’t hold back his smile.
The Clever Twist
The king laughed, “Gopal, you’ve tricked us again! You brought no food, but gave us the best entertainment.”
Gopal bowed and said,
“Honesty is the rarest spice, Your Majesty. That’s why the pot stayed empty!”
The king was so pleased, he declared Gopal the winner. And once again, Gopal Bhar proved that wit was mightier than even the finest dish!
